Dungarees

This card was made from a template I found for dungarees, which I re-sized and did a bit of altering. The base card was made with white cardstock and I stamped the top half in Bashful Blue with the alphabet stamp from the Confetti set. The dungarees were made from the striped Bashful Blue DSP in the Subtles Collection stack and some odd pieces of Bashful Blue cardstock and the faux stitching was drawn with the fine point of a Stampin’Write marker. The buttons were cut with the Sweet Buttons Embosslits die and covered with Crystal Effects to add some dimension and, as this is a congratulations card in preparation for the arrival of my new grandson Conor (who is now overdue!) I added a ‘C’ to the pocket which I cut with the Timeless Type Alphabet die. On the back I put another little pocket with a smaller button - again from the Buttons die.
This card could be used for a birth congratulations or a birthday card for a little one - and it is quite cute!

My little crafting world!

Sorry no card inspiration today as I have been busy trying to get my house in order (and of course that means my craft room) Just to show I haven’t been shirking I thought I’d show you what it looks like now. I wish I had taken some ‘before’ photos, although I probably would have been too ashamed to show them, but I can assure you it looked nothing like this!! I am lucky enough to have a spare bedroom which has been completely turned over to craft and is somewhere I can lock myself away and craft to my hearts content. I do have a collage of my grandchildren on the wall to look at occasionally and a small TV, although this rarely gets switched on!
Back tomorrow with some favour boxes :0)

Wedding Card with a difference

I was asked to make a wedding with the design to incorporate - an afternoon Tea Party, Bunting and Turquoise. Umm needed to get my thinking cap on for that one! I remember a while ago (before my SU days of stamps and wonderful punches) that I made a cake stand card using cut-out printed images of cup cakes and I was quite pleased with the result - although I'm sure if I saw it now I would think it revolting - so I decided to give it a go using punches. I did have to resort to using a few things which are non-SU i.e. some mirri card, coloured pearls and the tiny flower punch, but only because I had to!!!
The cake stand was made with a strip of mirri card, half a Scallop Oval for the stand at the bottom and round puches for the handle. The 'plates' were a strip of white edged with the Scallop Oval Border punch, a score line along the length and holes punched with a crop-o-dile. The Fondant Fancies on the bottom row were a square with the top two corners rounded, run through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, a thin strip of Tempting Turquoise added near the bottom and flowers in Tempting Turquoise on the top. The cupcakes were an end piece cut from a Scallop Oval, stamped with one of the stamps in Confetti and the case cut from a piece of mirri board run through the Crimper. Not too sure what the cakes on the top layer were meant to be but just use your imagination! The cake part was cut from a piece of white card, which had been sponged lightly with Tempting Turquoise, with a circle punch and some Dazzling Diamonds added in swirls. Cake stand finished so now onto the bunting, simply cardstock stamped with a Confetti stamp again and cut into triangles, stuck onto the card and some of the tiny Basic Rhinestones stuck in between. Job done and I was quite pleased with the result but, as turquoise is not a favourite colour of mine, I think it may have been better with white bunting - but a bit late now!
Apologies for my lack of posts this last couple of weeks but I have an all day event to sort out for tomorrow so not much time for making - normal service will be resumed next week (hopefully!)

Owl Brooches

At our team training a couple of weeks ago Jenny McCormac, a lovely lady in the Pink Ladies team, was wearing an owl brooch that she had made and I had a go at making them for an event I have coming up. It's made with the Owl punch using Chocolate Chip cardstock with different colours for his front and a piece of DSP for the heart. The wings are punched with the Scallop Circle punch cut down to size and stuck on the back with another punched owl stuck on to cover the joins. The whole thing, front and back, was covered with Crystal effects and, when dry, a brooch pin fixed on with a touch of Crystal Effects. Thanks for the idea Jenny - I love them!
