Strawberry Fayre!

After making my second card for the LIM challenge yesterday it gave me the idea for some raffle prizes I needed to make. My sister has been asked by a friend to help her with a Breast Cancer Care 2011 Strawberry Tea that she is hosting and I said I would make a couple of raffle prizes for her (if you would like to host a tea party to help raise money for such a worthy cause then all the details can be found on their website here). Up until this morning I really had no idea what to make but my entry for the Feeling Fruity challenge inspired me and also suited the strawberry tea concept. The oblong box contains three individually boxed soaps, shown in one of the small pictures on the right hand side, and the square box holds one of those small boxes of After Eights. If you want details of how I made the strawberries etc scroll down to the post below. I have a couple more things in mind to make so I could be back with more on the 'strawberry' theme.

Daisies pretending to be Gerberas!

More flowers made with that gorgeous Flower Daisies die - this time in Real Red and Cherry Cobbler made with more of a gerbera feel. The centre is a Bravo Burgundy punched circle covered with Crystal Effects and a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds.
Hope you're not getting too fed up with seeing these but I was just so pleased with how the photos turned out I had to share them!!

3D Watering Can

Today’s post is a little gift I have made for my KS4 manager, Joan, who is putting on a BBQ tomorrow for some of us as a thank you for our hard work this term. We haven’t been asked to take anything but I just cannot be invited anywhere without taking a gift, no matter how small it may be.
I found a template for this cute little watering can (which can found here) and decided to have a go, it’s made with River Rock cardstock randomly stamped with the small leaf from 'Lovely as a Tree' in River Rock, added tags from Tiny Tags, cut with the Jewelry Tag punch, again in River Rock and I embossed just the spout with the Perfect Polka dots embossing folder. The daisies were made in Whisper White and River Rock, using the Flower Daisies die, and the centres are a punched circle covered with Crystal Effects and a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds. The empty one, made with Soft Suede, was my first practise attempt but, as it’s empty, shows the watering can to better effect. This would make a perfect gift for someone in hospital now that so many do not allow fresh flowers (and you wouldn't have the bother of making sure they're kept watered!)
Let’s just hope the rain stays away tomorrow!!

Wedding Card

Today’s card is cased from a U.S demo by the name of Lyssa Zwolanek (her blog can be found here). I needed to make a wedding card to give to a work colleague and I just loved the simplicity of this design.
Basically it is three different sized rectangles with the top corners rounded and run through the BigShot using the elegant Bouquet Embossing folder. To cover the joins of the ‘cake tiers’ I placed a strip of card which had been crimped and cut to size. A thin strip of silver card stock made the cake board and the cake was finished off with tumbling flowers made with the Boho Blossoms punch and a Basic Rhinestone added to the centres. The retired sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the whole thing layered onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock to match the colour scheme of the wedding
